The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former Ravenwood High School teacher on charges that resulted from an investigation that began in 2014. Dr. Afeef Samir Husni, 29, from Oxford, Mississippi was taken into custody after he was expelled from Dubai. Federal authorities escorted him to Atlanta where U.S. Marshalls picked him up and transported him back to Franklin to face charges. The WCSO investigation led to a grand jury indictment against Dr. Husni on charges of tampering with evidence, solicitation to tamper with evidence, solicitation to commit statutory rape by an authority figure, solicitation of a minor to commit statutory rape and solicitation of a minor to commit sexual battery by an authority figure.

Dr. Husni was employed by Williamson County Schools for little more than two months at the beginning of the 2014 school year. He became the subject of an investigation after it was reported that he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with one of his 16-year-old students. After the investigation began, the school district suspended Dr. Husni and notified the State Board of Education of his suspension in October 2014. He resigned and left the country. Last week, he was returned to the United States.

Dr. Husni is currently free on $200,000 bond. A court date has not been set. Information about the victim will not be released to protect her identity.
