Captain Fred Bennett, a 34-year veteran of the department, ended his career where it started: at the Old, Old Jail, as it is called, on 112 Bridge Street in downtown Franklin. The Heritage Foundation recently renovated the building and moved its headquarters there.
Bennett, who spent the last 20 years as head of the Sheriffs Department’s Criminal Investigative Division, was well-wished by his friends and family attending the event.
