Williamson County Animal Center is pleased to announce that three puppies from the shelter will be appearing on #Team-Ruff during Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl XII, Sunday, February 7 at 2:00 p.m. CT.

Shelter director Laura Chavarria reports, “This is the second year that puppies from WCAC have been featured in Animal Planet’s annual Puppy Bowl. We were delighted to have been chosen to participate!”

Otis, a muscular 17-week old bulldog will be playing tackle, while long-legged Harper, a 13-week old brown American Pit Bull mix will show his stuff on offense. Raphael, a beautiful red and white Pit mix, will also start for #Team-Ruff as they take on archrivals #Team-Fluff in a winner-take-all-battle.

The Williamson County Animal Center, located in Franklin, TN, submitted audition tapes for the pups in September 2015, and late last year Chavarria and other staff members travelled to New York City with the pups for a taping session. “It was a wonderful experience,” stated Chavarria, “to visit the Animal Planet studios and see puppies from all over the country!”

According to Animal Planet, the annual Puppy Bowl event drew more than 10 million viewers last year. “It’s an honor to be selected,” stated Chavarria, “and it raises awareness and recognition for shelters and rescue groups across the United States.” Chavarria adds that all three pups have already found forever homes!
