On Saturday, Olympic Gold-medalist Shawn Johnson East and her husband, NFL free-agent, Andrew East, who call Nashville home, shared their journey about finding out they were pregnant then finding out two days later, she miscarried.
The title of the video “Pregnancy + Heartbreak” begins by saying, “We know a lot of people go through this, so we wanted to share it,” said Shawn.
In 24 hours, the video has been viewed over one million times. The couple chronicles the heartbreaking event each step of the way. From the moment Shawn discovered she was pregnant to telling Andrew and then the following doctor appointments where she learned she had miscarried at eight weeks.
After sharing the video, the couple hosted a Facebook Live where fans could ask questions. The couple thanked everyone for the outpouring of support. There were also many fans who shared their story of miscarriage.
In the Facebook Live, Johnson shows fans the pair of infant white Converse tennis shoes that Shawn bought as a way to tell Andrew she was pregnant explaining those were Andrew’s favorite shoes.
Shawn Johnson married Andrew East in Franklin back in April 2016.
