FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Spring Hill Wins Shootout; GCA, FRA Lose

Spring Hill 56 at Dickson County 46

The Spring Hill Raiders (3-1) stayed hot on the road at Dickson County (1-3) Friday.

After winning in a shootout 56-46, the Raiders are now averaging 38 points per game while giving up 26.

Spring Hill will take its 3-1 record to Tullahoma next week to battle the winless Wildcats (0-4).

Grace Christian 34 at Summertown 40

The first win of the season continues to dodge the Grace Christian Academy Lions.

After losing their first two games by one then seven points, the Lions (0-3) were involved in another close game against Summertown (4-0) Friday, losing 34-40.

GCA will look to get its first win of 2016 next week at home against Moore County (0-4).

Franklin Road Academy 10 vs Goodpasture 35

Franklin Road Academy just couldn’t contain the Goodpasture Christian Cougars Friday.

The Panthers (0-3) continued their losing ways by falling down into a 21-0 hole at halftime. The final score was 35-10.

One player in particular FRA had trouble bottling up was Goodpasture’s Jermaine Mason. He scored four total touchdowns – one rushing, one receiving and two on punt returns of 62 and 89 yards.

The Panthers will hope to find their first win of the season next week at home against Mt. Juliet Christian (2-2).
