FRA Senior Night 3 Pointer Shows Brotherly Love

Franklin Road Academy hosted Senior Night this past Friday night during their basketball game against University School. For Senior Night, FRA asked their team manager Robert Lewis to dress out for the game.

There was another Lewis on the basketball floor that night–Matthew Lewis, who plays for University School and is Robert’s younger brother. Robert has Down Syndrome and has managed FRA’s soccer, football and basketball teams throughout his high school career. As his mom, Judy Lewis, says, “Robert can fill a water bottle like nobody’s business!” reported Style Blueprint.

On the clock was 90 seconds of play time til the buzzer,Coach Pierce put Robert in the game. USN also put in younger brother Matthew in the game. As you watch the video, Matthew cleared the way for his brother to shoot.

First attempt was unsuccessful but Robert was given a second attempt at the basket with 5 seconds on the clock-the shot was good!  A three pointer! USN player, Isaac Eskind was the first  to congratulate Robert before the crowd rushed to celebrate.

“There was a lot of love in that gym — from both sides,” Judy Lewis, Robert and Matthew’s mother, said.

Final score was FRA 64-USN 47; however, it’s not about the final score but about the brotherly love, sportsmanship, and of course a hashtag that is trending #brotherguardingbrother #robertforthree
