Battle Ground Academy quarterback Nick Semptimphelter threw for three touchdowns, as the Wildcats cruised to an easy 38-0 victory over Lipscomb Academy on Friday. 

Semptimphelter finished a great regular season by hitting 15 of 21 passes for 138 yards. The BGA defense held Lipscomb to 84 yards and posted its second shutout of 2018.

Garnett Hollis (four catches, 58 yards) and Briston Bennett (eight carries, 96 yards) each scored twice for BGA (8-2), which grabbed the No. 2 seed in the Middle portion of the Division II-AA playoffs. 

The Wildcats will play at home against Silverdale Baptist, the No. 5 seed from the East, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. 

Bennett had a 33-yard touchdown run with 6:11 left in the first quarter, Jack Sauder’s point-after giving BGA a 7-0 advantage.

Semptimphelter hit Tiy Reed with a 2-yard pass, helping put BGA up 14-0 just six seconds into the second quarter.

Two plays later, BGA’s Russ Nicoll recovered a Lipscomb fumble at the Mustang 16. Semptimphelter connected with Hollis for an 8-yard scoring pass two plays later.

Bennett then had a 2-yard scoring run with 6:47 left before half, then, Sauder hit a 43-yard field goal on the half’s last play. 

Semptimphelter and Hollis hooked up on a 26-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter, putting the Wildcats up 38-0. 

BGA finished 8-2 in the regular season and has won four in a row.
