Sears Hometown Store opened in November 2016 in McKay’s Mill but will close its doors on June 30.

The one-time mall anchor store was one of the first to build in the CoolSprings Galleria mall along with Castner-Knott and Dillard’s. The Sears Hometown store was the first brick and mortar presence for the brand since the mall store closed in 2013.

Sears Hometown Store opened on Nov. 10, 2016 at 1415 Liberty Pike at the roundabout with Oxford Glen Drive in Franklin in a former Walgreens.

Local store owner William Talbot said, “There are many reasons for the store closing. Sears Hometown Stores and I have mutually agreed to close the store.”

The new Sears HometownStore carries appliance brands such as Kenmore®, Maytag®, KitchenAid®, Whirlpool®, Bosch®, Frigidaire® and GE®, plus a large assortment of lawn and garden equipment, Craftsman® tools, fitness equipment, electronics, mattresses and more with discounts already taken on the products.
