Lent officially began on Ash Wednesday (March 6) and runs through Holy Thursday (April 18). Given the no-meat component, many restaurants and businesses offer diners and shoppers seafood specials during Lent, as well as special menu items. Captain D’s: The menu features new seafood sandwiches for $3.99. Options include battered fish and North Atlantic lobster. Available until April 30.

Chick-fil-A: For a limited time (through April 20), the select locations are offering fish sandwiches made with cod, as well as two- and three-count fish meals.

Jack in the Box: During Lent, try the $4 Fish Sandwich Combo (sandwich plus fries and drink) or the $5 fish burrito combo (burrito plus small fries and small drink).

Kohl’s: Take your at-home fish fry to the next level with an air fryer. Until March 12, Kohl’s is offering 15% off orders over $100 with this code.

Long John Silver’s: Get the new Thick-Cut Alaska White Fish Sandwich combo or basket for $5.99. Combo features sandwich, pickles, tartar sauce, a side and a 20-oz. drink. The basket features two pieces of fish, side and two hushpuppies.

Quiznos: For seafood season, order the Chipotle Lobster & Seafood Sub or the Lobster & Seafood Scampi Bake Sub (both $5.45 for a four-inch) and other seasonal, Lent-friendly menu items. Plus, starting March 5, Quiznos Toasty Points loyalty app users can earn double points on all lobster and seafood items any Friday through Sunday until April 30 AND snag free chips and a drink with any eight- or 12-inch sub or full salad purchase. Walmart: Stock up on frozen fish and fixings, such as fries, chips and dressings by ordering from Walmart grocery. Your order will be loaded into your car for free, and new users get $10 off. Walmart also has a page on its site for Lent shoppers that includes seafood and vegetarian options.

Wendy’s: For seafood season, enjoy the North Pacific Cod Sandwich at participating locations.
