Schools of Williamson County – Part III

Part 3: Middle College High

Located on Everbright Avenue is the People’s Building of Middle College High School. They are part of a consortium of 22 schools and consider themselves a school of opportunity. Grade 10-12 may petition to attend the program that offers a college environment.

Offering dual enrollment and night classes for high school students is a unique opportunity for students to develop and prepare for college and life work environments. Technology integration is a big part of the curriculum. Each student completes an academic and service learning project before graduation. Journalism, theater, arts and audio production are major focuses for many of the students who attend.

Keeping parents and the community informed is important to Middle College and they send out a newsletter regularly. The MCHS Tiger Tracks gives you a pipeline to information that helps students and parents make the most of their high school experience. It has been announcing deadlines for college scholarship submissions, reminding students of fees that are due and promoting College Week Live.

The school is hosting a prospective student open house on Thursday, March 14th at 6 p.m. Monday, April 15th they are hosting a college fair, they are currently having a canned food drive and other fund raisers and school support efforts. Take a look at Middle College if you haven’t already.
