Scene Around Town: Southern Whiskey Society Event

On Saturday, August 5, it was the first gathering of the MADE SOUTH Southern Whiskey Society Event held at The Factory in Franklin. It was an evening of culinary experiences from whiskey to food.

Attendees were able to sample whiskey from local and region distilleries which include H. Clark Distillery, George Dickel, Leiper’s Fork Distillery and more.

Along with the whiskey samples, attendees could enjoy a Mint Julep and Old Fashion cocktails while tasting bites from some of the region’s most celebrated chefs. One of the most interesting bites of the evening was from Chef Annie Pettry of Decca, Louisville, Ky. A cheese straw was topped with spoonfish caviar and benedictine featuring Kenny’s Farmhouse cheese.

Guests were entertained with live music, a live podcast, and the opportunity to purchase items from Peter Nappi and Blue Delta custom-made jeans.

Just outside Liberty Hall, where the event took place, a cigar lounge was available where you could enjoy a selection of cigars or take a test ride in one of the two Teslas on-site.
