Scene Around Town: Heroes in Heels in Franklin

Saturday night at ECCO Salon was a night to celebrate three courageous women, Jill Davis, Kasey Duddleson, and Mary Elizabeth Hurst are three heroic women who have battled breast cancer. The women prefer to be called “Thrivers” instead of survivors and they were the stars of the Heroes in Heels event in Franklin this past weekend.

It was the kick-off fundraiser to provide the Franklin YMCA with an After Breast Cancer (ABC) program, one that currently only exists at the Maryland Farms YMCA.  Attendees enjoyed a signature cocktail provided by GRAY’S on Main, small bites by Juice Bar Franklin and a runway show by Alain Patterson of “La Maison d’Alain.”

The event was dedicated to Cynthia Clingan, a member of the ABC program who lost her battle to cancer in 2014. Clingan will be honored with the “Cynthia Clingan Room”, part of the newly created ABC program at the Franklin YMCA. The room has been fully constructed and will be dedicated at a later date.

See our photos from the event. To donate to the After Breast Cancer program, visit the Heroes in Heels 2017 Fundly page.
