Scene Around Town: Centennial H.S. Band Camp

The Centennial High School Marching Band, Percussion Band and Color Guard have been working hard this summer, prepping for a year of performances on the football field and in competition.

You can see the CHS Marching Band Aug 21st at their first home football game against Franklin High School.

About the Centennial High School Marching Cougars:

The CHS Marching Cougars Band has received All Superior Ratings in the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association Marching Festival throughout the years and Superior Ratings at the Columbia High School (TN) Marching Invitational, in addition to winning the 8th Place Sweepstakes Award (1997) and 3rd Place (1998).

The band received 2nd Place (twice) at the Austin Peay University Mid-South Marching Invitational and placed 1st, 2nd, and 4th (twice) at the Vanderbilt University Marching Invitational. It also won the 3rd Place Sweepstakes Award and was a Finalist in the Bradley Central (TN) Marching Invitational, won 2nd Place at the Franklin Simpson (KY) Invitational, won 1st in Class at the Grissom High School (AL) Marching Invitational, and placed 1st in Class at the Dickson County (TN) Marching Invitational.

The CHS Marching Cougars were Grand Champions (twice) at the Muscle Shoals (AL) Invitational, a Finalist in the Music City (TN) Invitational, won 1st Place and 2nd Place in the Hendersonville (TN) Invitational, Finalist and 1st and 2nd Place in the Middle Tennessee State University’s Contest of Champions, in addition to multiple Superior Ratings.

The CHS Band has performed twice in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade and Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. and has appeared twice and won in the Fiesta Bowl Parade and National Championship competition.
