Ingredients

6 oz. blackberries
1/4 cup Black Onyx Chocolate Sugar
Directions

Rinse blackberries and let them air dry on paper towels until mostly dry. In a small bowl, gently fold chocolate sugar into blackberries. Let sit 30 min. to 1 hour to macerate. Scrape berries, sugar, and any liquids that have accumulated into a small saucepan. Heat mixture over medium heat, stirring frequently, until berries begin to change color and soften. With a wooden spoon, crush the berries against the side of the pan. Simmer mixture for 10 to 15 min. until it thickened slightly. Serve, or let cool and refrigerate.

Serving Suggestions

Serve warm or cold over cheesecake, pound cake, ice cream, pancakes or waffles. Use in cocktails in place of simple syrup. Mix 1 Tbsp. into lemon-lime soda for a twist on the classic Shirley Temple.
