Saddle Up! Will Celebrate its 30th Music Country Grand Prix

Music City Grand Prix

The 2018 Tractor Supply Company Music Country Grand Prix, Middle Tennessee’s premier equestrian show jumping competition, will take place Saturday, June 2, at Brownland Farm in Franklin.

“We’re looking forward to this year’s Music Country Grand Prix and an afternoon of exciting competition,” said Sarah Ingram, co-chairwoman of the 2018 event with Jennifer Pennington. “This event features the type of riveting show jumping seen at the Olympics. It’s sure to be another thrilling day of fearless and spectacular competition.”

This year, participants will contend for the newly increased $50,000 purse. This purse has increased by $10,000 from last year – aiming to draw a higher level of competitors to this year’s Grand Prix.

In addition to the breathtaking competition, the Music Country Grand Prix includes a Patrons’ Tent with dinner and bar, a specially created “People Prix” in which children (and kids at heart) can test their jumping abilities over custom-made people jumps, and a silent auction with varied and unique items.

This is the 13th year that Tractor Supply Company has been the presenting sponsor for the event.

Event Timeline:

2:30 p.m. – Gates open | Silent Auction opens | People Prix opens

4:00 p.m. – Music Country Grand Prix competition begins

4:30 p.m. – Patrons’ Tent gourmet buffet

General admission is $15; children under 10 enter free.

Since 2005, the Music Country Grand Prix has raised $1.6 million for Saddle Up! the only PATH Intl. premier horseback riding program in Middle Tennessee changing the lives of children with disabilities through the power of horses.

“Saddle Up! provides so much more than just an adaptive pony ride,” said Laurie Kush, executive director of Saddle Up! “Our horses, trained staff, physical, occupational and speech therapists, and over 500 volunteers work with our families to provide individualized lesson plans that target specific gains in mental and physical strength, confidence, focus, and self-worth.”
