Running Club to Host Kids Triathlon

In a community effort standard to the blossoming community of Nolensville, the Nolensville Running Club, BEAT, Town of Nolensville and Williamson County Parks and Recreation have come together to bring the first-annual kids triathlon to the town.

The Nolensville Kids Triathlon will take place on Sunday, August 16 starting at 7 a.m. at the Nolensville Recreation Complex. Registration is open now and volunteers are needed. Click here to register.

Children ages 5-15 are able to participate in the event which includes swimming, biking and running. Medals and tshirts will be given to all participating, and special awards will be given to the top three in each gender and age category. The registration fee is $30.

“The goal for this event is to promote a healthy, active lifestyle for kids while keeping it FUN, FUN, FUN for competitors plus their family and friends,” reads the webpage about the event.

Categories/Distances:

Ages 5-7: 50 yard swim, 2.5 mile bike, 0.7 mile run
Ages 8-11: 100 yard swim, 2.5 mile bike, 0.7 mile run
Ages 12-15: 150 yard swim, 4.8 mile bike, 1.5 mile run

This race is sanctioned by USA Triathlon and follows the standard “age up rule.” The age of the racer is based on their age at the end of this year, 12/31/2015.

Some roads will be closed to traffic during the event.
