Run With Rotary Benefits Local Charities & Monroe Carell, Jr Children’s Hospital

For over 40 years, The Brentwood Rotary Club has been helping under-represented communities in Williamson County. As part of the international Rotary organization, they provide charitable contributions to those in need in their individual communities including contributions to local schools, charities, and other non-profit organizations.

As a part of this, the Brentwood Rotary Club established the Run with Rotary event which not only provids funding for the Rotary club charities but also provides funding to the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital Vanderbilt at Williamson Medical Center. This year the event will be hosted at Brentwood High School by Lattimore, Black, Morgan & Cain (LBMC, Family of Companies).

The Run with Rotary was first created in 2007. To date, with the help of Brentwood High School and several sponsors including LBMC, the event has averaged $14,000 every year in net proceeds, which allows the rotary to support the community even further.

When Williamson Medical Center arranged for the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital to join them, the rotary club “decided that the Children’s Hospital serves all of us in the entire community and that they were a worthy and deserving non-profit that all of us relate to,” said Sheila Cleveland of the Brentwood Rotary Club.

This year marks the run’s ninth anniversary and they have 35 to 40 generous sponsors that have supported them from the beginning. All together, the event has invested net proceeds exceeding $100,000 to people and non-profits serving the Williamson County Community.

Participants have an option of running in the 5k, 10k, or family fun run that will start and finish at Brentwood High School with scenic courses running through McGavock Farms, Maryland Farms, and Granny White Park. Registration is open and available at the event.

There’s still time to register. Please Join them Saturday September 24th, 2016 at 8:00 am at Brentwood High School to run and support these two organizations. Registration ranges from $15 to $40 depending on when you register and what event you participate in. For more information, visit RunwithRotarytn.com.
