Rumer Willis Brings Cabaret Show to Franklin Theatre

Daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore and winner of Dancing With The Stars 2015, Rumer Willis will bring her Post Modern Cabaret show to the Franklin Theatre on October 28th at 8pm.

Rumer began singing at the age of three, performing for her family in their living room. She joined a music conservatory in Idaho at the age of 12 studying opera and then continued her classical training at Interlochen Arts Academy.

Lending her talents to various musical theatre productions in high school as well as joining the Jazz Band, her love of music only continued to grow. In 2014 she started a weekly residency at the famed Sayers Club in Hollywood, where she honed her stage presence and sultry vocals. After releasing her cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” on iTunes last year, she took the stage for her Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in “Chicago.” Most recently she starred in the film adaptation of the musical “Hello Again” and made her solo cabaret debut at the famed Cafe Carlyle. She is currently working on her debut album with legendary writer and producer Linda Perry.

We spoke to Willis just before she hit the road with her “Over the Love” tour, in which she will perform at smaller, more intimate venues across the country.

“I wanted to have a place where I could get to know each audience and so that they could get to know me as well,” Willis said of her decision not to perform at large venues.

It will be the first visit to Franklin for Willis and she’s excited to explore and see what the city has to offer.  Willis has visited Nashville a few times before attending the CMT Awards in 2015.

“I wanted to sing to some of the smaller towns because they normally aren’t on tour schedules. I’ve never been to Franklin, but one of my favourite places to go back in Nashville is the Blue Bird Cafe. I would love to be able to check it out again. And of course, other places with music.”

Although Willis is focused on her music tour right now, she still loves acting as well.

“I love it all, it’s really all special for me, to create an expression. I really enjoy all of it, but I think I have to say singing is very close to my heart.”

Ticket holders will have the opportunity to purchase a meet and greet ticket where you will have the opportunity to meet Rumer Willis in person and purchase merchandise. Ticket prices start at $50, Cabaret tickets are $65 which include the meet and greet. Purchase online at the Franklin Theatre website.
