Roverworks Holds Casting Call for Local Dog Owners in College Grove

RoverWorks, an open casting call and festival event that gives local dog owners the chance to have their dog photographed and featured in an upcoming book, is coming to Williamson County.

RoverWorks consists of two events: an adult’s only cocktail party on Saturday, March 18th and a family-friendly open casting call and festival on the 19th from 11a-5p. It all takes place at The Grove in College Grove.

Creator and photographer, Andrew Grant, will be on-site to judge the contestants at the casting call and choose three winners to be featured in the upcoming edition of Rover (that’s a $5,000 value for free.) Additional dog features will be available, via donation. Rover is a 500-page coffee table book that features photographs of dogs from across the country.

Rover gained national attention when Ellen DeGeneres gave Oprah a copy of Rover during her Christmas show, and since then over one million dollars has been donated by pet advocates in order to have their dogs featured in Rover. Proceeds from this initiative go towards reducing pet homelessness across the US.

Guests will be able to enjoy food, beverages, live entertainment, kid’s activities and raffle offerings, while dog-focused vendors including a bakery, groomer, veterinarian and pet illustrator will be on-site for the whole family to enjoy. Proceeds from the casting call and festival event, which is free and open to the public, will benefit local organizations Agape and the Williamson County Animal Center.

Learn more about the event at the RoverWorks website or visit The Grove Living website for more information.
