The company that owns Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s announced last week that it will move its corporate headquarters from Carpinteria, California to Franklin.

CKE Restaurant Holdings plans to invest $5 million in a relocation that will create more than 100 jobs in Williamson county.

The holding company, which already has two Tennessee offices and has several restaurants in the state, will consolidate to 6700 Tower Circle. There it will rent 47,030 square feet on 1.5 floors in the newly developed business park there. At the same time, its office in Anaheim will remain fully operational.

“We are pleased to bring CKE’s headquarters to Tennessee, a state that understands business and provides companies like ours with an environment that facilitates success,” Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants, said in an Area Development report.“We look forward to calling the city of Franklin our base of operations as we continue to meaningfully forge ahead with some very exciting new developments in the foreseeable future.”

“We appreciate CKE for choosing Tennessee as home to its corporate headquarters and creating more than 100 new jobs in Franklin,” Governor Bill Haslam said in the report. “In Tennessee, we provide a business-friendly environment that promotes growth and success for both new and existing businesses. We welcome CKE and thank the company for bringing us one step closer toward our goal to make Tennessee the No. 1 location in the Southeast for high quality jobs.”

Local officials also expressed their excitement with the move.

“We are thrilled CKE Restaurants has decided to relocate their corporate headquarters to Williamson County,” Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson said to Area Development. “I welcome the employees of CKE and their families to our community, and I look forward to a strong partnership with one of America’s most iconic brands.
