Remember 9/11

September 11th is a tragic and heroic day for the United States of America. The visions, stories and memories of that day in 2001 will resonate through our history. As you go about your daily duties, remember the triumph found during tragedy and make sure you say a personal thank you to those who serve your community daily. Police, firefighters, emergency crews, state and local agencies, and most of all the soldiers of our armed forces deserve a special prayer or acknowledgement on days like these.

The Remember 911 – 9/11 Memorial Website says:
“We shall never forget
We shall keep this day,
We shall keep the events and the tears
In our minds, our memory and our hearts
and take them with us as we carry on.”

The site leads you to memories and ways to help the Firefighter’s National Trust Fund, the September 11 Fund and more. Please take a minute to visit and support those who support you. Locally, you can look into supporting the Williamson County Rescue Squad. Check out their links page for other fire fighters in the area to support. Don’t forget the Police and Sheriff’s officer funds that need public support as well. Contact your local department for information on how to support.

In honor of those who protect us, Brentwood High School girls cross country coach, Lara Whitaker, invited the Brentwood Fire Department to practice today at 3pm. The team will be wearing red, white and blue gear and will run up the stadium stairs in honor of the fire fighters who risked their lives so many years ago. Stay tuned for our coverage on this terrific story.
