Regal Entertainment Group headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee just added a new security measure to its Regal Cinema theaters.
It will now inspect moviegoers’ bag or backpacks prior to admission. Regal made a statement on its website, “To ensure the safety of our guests and employees, backpacks and bags of any kind are subject to inspection prior to admission. We acknowledge that this procedure can cause some inconvenience and that it is not without flaws, but hope these are minor in comparison to increased safety.”
On the Admittance procedure page it list the new policy regarding Backpacks/Packages/Bags.

On August 5th, there was an attack at a Carmike Theater in Antioch. We have reached out to the corporate Carmike offices for a response to see if there will be additional security measures at Carmike theaters but have been unable to reach them for comment.
