WCS students will have more time at recess after a new State law and WCS Board policy goes into effect for the 2025-26 school year.
Elementary students will receive at least 45 minutes of physical activity during each full school day. The activity periods must include unstructured play outside if weather permits.
Middle and high school students will receive at least 90 minutes of physical activity each full school week.
Time spent on an electronic device and time spent walking to and from class will not be considered physical activity.
Schools will continue to offer after-school sports and activities as usual.
