Ravenwood Playoff Game Information

The Raptor Football team will depart for Memphis Friday morning for their TSSAA 6A semifinal matchup with Whitehaven. Whitehaven is 13-0 on the season and is the #1 seed in Quad 4. Whitehaven defeated White Station, Rossview and Arlington in their previous 3 playoff games, beating each team by 7 points.

Ravenwood looks to improve on the best regular season in school history and move to 14-0 on the season, tying the 2005 team with 14 wins. The last time the Raptors traveled to Memphis for a playoff game was 2006, defeating White Station 35-28, advancing the Raptors to the TSSAA 5A Championship where they fell to Smyrna. Ravenwood won the TSSAA 5A Championship with a 14-1 record in 2005.  Coach Hester says “What an exciting time for Ravenwood Football! We are very excited about the opportunity we have in front of us on Friday night! We are 48 minutes away from playing for a Gold Ball! Our young men have been working toward games like this for 2 years now. The foundation laid in the battles of last season have built a solid foundation and our program is just beginning to reap the benefits. Only a special few have a chance each year to practice on Thanksgiving morning and tomorrow we have that honor. The adversity of last week has sharpened our blade and only increased our desire to FINISH the RACE! In my 16 years of coaching I have yet to be around a group of men that care more for each other that this group does. That bond, fortified in Adversity, will be the difference! The hair on my neck is standing up just talking about it! WE CAN and WE WILL!!”
