Ravenwood High’s indoor percussion ensemble earned gold at the 2026 Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships.

On April 19, the group completed an undefeated season at the regional level with champion status at the international level. Each year, percussion, winds and color guard groups gather from across the globe in Dayton, Ohio, for the competition.

“This World Champion title is a testament to the relentless work ethic and dedication of our students,” said RHS Percussion Director Nick Mason. “They’ve poured countless hours into perfecting every moment of this production, and we’re incredibly proud to see that commitment recognized at the highest level.”

To unify performers and pursue excellence, Ravenwood High indoor percussion features students from various schools in the county.

“I’m so happy to be part of this program,” said RHS student Jackson. “It’s amazing that Williamson County Schools gives us the chance to come together from different schools and accomplish something like this as one team.”

The Ravenwood High Winter Guard also achieved its highest score of the season at the competition.
