Two Ravenwood students placed third in the C-Span national video competition. The C-Span Bus is going to be at the school tomorrow to recognize Aaron Mirtes and Chaz Olivier for their accomplishment and to award them their $750 prize.
“Because education is an important part of Comcast’s mission, we are excited to recognize Aaron Mirtes and Chaz Olivier on their winning documentary in this year’s annual C-SPAN StudentCam competition,” said Sara Jo Houghland, Comcast Director of Government Affairs & Public Relations. “We are proud to partner with C-SPAN each year on this competition which allows students to think creatively about issues that affect their community and nation.”
The C-Span Bus tour this year is helping inform students about the public affairs network’s new First Ladies feature series and honoring winners of C-SPAN’s student documentary contest, StudentCam.
The bus is in its 20th year and will stop to commend the duo at Ravenwood on their video about the most important issue the President should address this year. See the video here. The Bus also is promoting a new C-SPAN original series First Ladies: Influence & Image, which airs every Monday night at 9 p.m. ET on C-SPAN. From Martha Washington to Michelle Obama, C-SPAN is presenting a comprehensive look at the lives and legacies of each of the first ladies.
