Ravenwood head football coach Matt Daniels and assistant coach Ryan Fowler have been suspended pending investigation into Fowler injuring a Ravenwood player during practice on September 18 according to Williamson County Communications Director Carol Birdsong.
“Yesterday, WCS was made aware of allegations of potential inappropriate participation by coaches at a Ravenwood High Football practice. An investigation was immediately begun, and the investigation is continuing. Head Matt Daniels and Coach Ryan Fowler have been suspended pending investigation. For tonights game against Dickson County, Coach Andy Elrod will lead the team, Birdsong said.
In a story uncovered on PaulKuharsky.com on Thursday by both Kuharsky and tnhighschoolfootball.com, multiple sources said that Fowler, a former NFL linebacker put on shells and a helmet and hit an offensive guard that caused a concussion for the player.
Ravenwood (4-1, 2-1) is currently ranked seventh in Class 6A in this week’s AP poll will travel to Dickson County (1-5, 0-2) tonight.
