Ever since Ravenwood’s head football coach, William Hester, left in December, the school has been looking for a replacement.

Athletic Director Danny Borne released an update on the search:

This is a very exciting time for the future of Raptor Football as we have acquired many great candidates that are capable of continuing the success built over the past three season.  We have received over 150 applicants for the job so far.  The interview process has been delayed with WCS schools missing three out of the five days of school last week.  However, we will continue moving ahead with the second round of interviews later this week.  The goal of administration is to move as fast as possible to hire a new coach while being as detailed as possible to hire the right person for the job.

The school is staying mum on the specifics of the search, but there are rumors that the Raptors have brought in a top coach from Alabama to interview, as well as others from around the country.

Other news out about Ravenwood football: earlier in the week, Chris Rowland received another scholarship offer. Signing day is Weds, February 3.
