These kinds of games are becoming a habit for Ravenwood.

Raptors’ quarterback Brian Garcia threw three touchdown passes, as the Raptors came from behind for a 24-20 road win at Franklin on Friday night.

Garcia hit Shane Craig with a 42-yard touchdown pass with 4:35 left for the winning touchdown. He completed 14 of 22 throws for 212 yards.

Franklin running back Matt Gaca rushed 25 times for 91 yards, and caught two passes for 56 yards, accounting for most of the Rebels’ 162 yards of offense.

Trailing 17-10, Ravenwood (3-0) tied the game on Garcia’s 31-yard touchdown pass to Andrew Mason, followed by Luke Akers’ point-after, with 7:34 left in the third quarter.

Franklin’s Alex Cundall hit a 24-yard field goal with 10:29 left, edging the Rebels ahead again.

But the Raptors, who’ve come from behind in all their wins this season, wouldn’t be denied. Garcia’s third scoring throw capped an 80-yard drive that took 3:25 off the clock.

Franklin led early, as defensive back Chapman Beaird intercepted Garcia and returned it to the Raptor 7. That set up a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Rashad Jenkins with 4:58 left in the first quarter.

After Ravenwood tied the game on a Garcia-to-Evan Coleman touchdown pass covering 31 yards, Franklin quarterback Joshua Nichols hit Gaca with a 60-yard pass, setting up Cundall’s 34-yard field goal with 5:01 left before half.

Nichols punched in a 1-yard run with under a minute left in the first half, putting the Rebels up 10. The Raptors countered with a 46-yard field goal from Akers to end the half.

It was Franklin’s first home game this season. The Rebels fell to 1-2, with their other loss coming by three points to Brentwood.

Ravenwood hosts Page next week, while Franklin travels to McGavock.
