Raptors Claw Past Bears

It wasn’t easy for the Ravenwood Raptors. Welcoming an 0-2 team they knew was an angry bear and a lot tougher than their record showed. Mt. Juliet showed up wanting to make a statement against a new District foe.

OT Needed To Decide Winner in Raptors-Bears Matchup

After a 15-15 performance last week in the Battle of the Woods, Andrew Rappe struggled (6-17) against a very good Bears defense. But when he needed one, he delivered.

In a game that was tied at the half 7-7, penalties were the bane of the Raptors existence in the second half. One of those negated a 66 yard TD by Chris Rowland. Despite that, with less than a minute left, the Raptors found themselves with a 17-14 lead. With :29 seconds left Mt. Juliet hit the tying FG and to OT the 2 teams went

On the first OT play, Rappe redeemed himself by hitting Facer in the end zone for a TD. Andrew Lutgens returned to the Raptors defense in a huge way by stuffing the Bears on their first play. The next play DB Zack Stallcup made a leaping interception and sealed the win for the now 3-0 Raptors

The Raptors take on Centennial in Cougar Town next Friday 9/11. The Cougars beat Dickson County Friday night 35-23.
