Raise the Roofs Benefits The Park at Harlinsdale Farm

Restoring the Park at Harlinsdale Farm is an active project for the Friends of Franklin Parks, LLC. On Saturday, June 16 they are holding the inaugural “Raise the Roofs” benefit under a tent at the park.

This fundraiser is presented by Franklin Synergy Bank with support from AXA Advisors, Five Points Roofing and Tennessee Equine Hospital. “Harlinsdale Farm is an important Franklin landmark and we are appreciative of Friends of Franklin Parks’ efforts to preserve this treasure through the Park at Harlinsdale,” said Richard Herrington, bank president.

Both the historic barn and the Hayes’ farmhouse are in need of new roofs to stop further structural deterioration. The farm dates back to the mid 20th century and was known as the birth place of the Walking Horse industry in Tennessee.

Most people don’t know that Franklin was one of the largest homes to Throughbreds and other breeds prior to the Civil War. Our parks are a showcase for our history,” said Dr. Monty McInturff, FoFP, Board of Governors president.

Tickets for “Raise the Roofs” are $75 and are available now. Contact FoFP Executive Director Mindy Tate at (615) 794-0998 for more information.
