Raiders Rebound, Run Rampant Over Tullahoma

Tylin Oden, Jahmal Steele, and Dontae Smith led a Raider rushing attack that accounted for 434 yards and 5 touchdowns on the ground as Spring Hill (2-3, 1-1) dismantled the Tullahoma Wildcats (0-5, 0-2) by a score of 47-17.

Tylin Oden would get the scoring started with a 55 yard touchdown run, only to be one-upped a few minutes later by Dontae Smith, who bust through the Wildcat defense for a 66 yard touchdown run of his own. Oden completed 5 of 10 passes for 111 yards, including a 35-yard touchdown pass to Daniel Johnson. Oden would add another 7 touchdown run before the half to make the score at the break 27-3. Spring Hill would open up the 2nd half with a scoring drive, finishing with a 2 yard Noah Williams’ touchdown run. Tullahoma would score a touchdown before the end of the 3rd to make the score 33-10. By the start of the 4th quarter, Spring Hill began to empty the bench to protect their starters. Raiders backup quarterback T.J. Ennis would complete a 15 yard touchdown pass to Cavaughn Washington early in the 4th quarter. After another Tullahoma touchdown, Spring Hill would cap the scoring with a 3 yard Zuriel Jessie touchdown run to set the final score at 47-17.

In total, the Raiders had 13 different ball carriers amass 434 yards on the ground. Dontae Smith led the Raider rushers with 96 yards on 4 carries and 1 touchdown. Jahmal Steele would add 83 yards on 9 carries. Tylin Oden finished the game with 82 yards and 2 touchdowns on 6 carries.

Spring Hill gets the chance to rest up next week during their bye week. After the bye week, Spring Hill travels to Giles County, who is currently winless on the season.
