FINAL UPDATE: Well it was a heck of a ride! Quintavious stole hearts all across America with his amazing voice and wondeful personality, but in the end it wasn’t , according to America, a $1,000,000 act. There were 4 singing acts in the Final 6 and each act was very strong. With voters split over the singers, it opened the door for Mat Franco and his magic act. Personally, I think America got it wrong, I’ve seen the same act by a magician here in Franklin at the Mellow bar. Quintavious got to sing with Jennifer Hudson earlier in the evening and when he was announced as eliminated at #5 many in the crowd boo-ed. Quintavious did get a special gift from the judges as he was informed he and his family would be heading to Hogwarts in Florida for a little vacation. Still smiling when it was all said and done, Quintavious was a great ambassador of the City of Franklin and there will be much more from this young man in the future.

UPDATE: 9/16/2014 Watch Quintavious tonight as he competes in the finals on WSMV-TV 4.

UPDATE 9/10/2014: Well we weren’t shocked when Quintavious was announced as one of the final 6. This sets up one more week of competiton and Nashvillian Emily West also made the finals. And while The Muppets were pretty entertaining, Quintavious continued to entertain in various pieces as he continued to just have fun in NYC. Watch next week to see if this Freedom Middle student moves on.

UPDATE: 9/9/2014: What can we say, Quintavious nailed it again Tuesday night! This time it was a soulful rendition of Rose Royce’s  “I’m Going Down”. Nailing every note , and entertaining the crowd in a suit that was inspired by host Nick Cannon, the Franklin Middle student dazzled the crowd. Think we are biased? Judges Mel B. and Howie Mandel said they thought @thequintavious had the goods to win it all! Here’s what was tweeting afterwards:

Will Quintavious move on? We’re pretty excited over here at Williamson Source, and pretty confident he will! Decisions will be given tonight on Channel 4 WSMV tonight at 8:00. If Quintavious wins tonight he moves into the finals, against what will be the strongest field of 5 in AGT history, for a chance to win $1,000,000.  UPDATE: 9/4/2014 : Well , if you don’t know who Quintavious is by now, you gotta get out more often. The “just a kid from Franklin, Tennessee” once again got a standing “O” from the Radio City Music Hall crowd and the judges. On Tuesday night  his rendition of “I’d Rather Go Blind,” first performed by the legendary Etta James in 1967, was soulful and strong. On Wednesday night he was rewarded with a trip to the Final 12. Personally, I am have been a fan of AGT since day 1, and this is by far the strongest performance by a kid , let alone by a singer I have ever seen. We’ll watch next Tuesday to see what Quintavious brings to the stage as this incredible part of his journey comes to an end.

UPDATE: 9/2/2014: Quintavious continues on his journey and representing Franklin proudly while doing it! This week we find our talented young man going up against 13 others live in the Semi Finals at Radio City Music Hall. So far the judges and the country have been nothing but positive, as they should be, with Quintavious’ performances. Watch tonight on NBC Channel 4 at 8:00 to see if he can squeeze another standing ovation performance.

UPDATE 8/20/2014 : What can we say about last night’s performance by 12 year old Freedom Middle School student Quintavious Johnson but “WOW!”. And we weren’t the only ones, he completely blew away Radio City Music Hall and the Judges, who had been a bit bored all night. Quintavious  performed “And I Tell You I’m Not Going” from “DreamGirls”, a traditional “diva” tune and got a standing-O from the crowd and judges. We feel pretty secure that Quintavious will move on to the Semis after last night’s performance. NBC did a great job of showing Quintavious at Freedom Middle and spotlighting his family life as one of 3 boys in a single mother family. The replays  of America’s Got Talent  from last night’s performances are from 7-8 p.m. tonight , followed by the results show from 8-9 p.m. on WSMV Channel 4.
