A local student, Quinn Curtis from Independence High School, has been named a 2015 Bank of America Student Leader. The Student Leader program is part of Bank of America’s Summer Youth Employment initiative, and recognizes community-minded high school students across the country. The program connects them to employment, skills development and service.

There are approximately 200 students nationwide chosen for the Student Leaders program, and Quinn is one of five in Nashville. As part of the Student Leaders experience, Quinn is completing an eight week long internship at the Oasis Center to learn about the management and operations of running a successful nonprofit organization. The Oasis Center, a community based organization, provides assistance to vulnerable young people to help them thrive and move into healthy adulthoods.

Quinn has a remarkable resume, including involvement in the Independence High School Humane Society, the Williamson County animal shelter and various honors societies. She will be attending the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in the fall and plans on majoring in political science.
