It’s not even September and Starbucks will release the pumpkin spice latte in stores. This year, the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) will celebrate 15 years!

This year, two new products are available exclusively in grocery – Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Cookie Straws and Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee K-Cup® Pods.

Fans of pumpkin flavored drink now have seven ways to enjoy the flavors of Starbucks PSL where groceries are sold as the new offerings join returning favorites: bottled Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Latte, Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Flavored Ground Coffee, Starbucks® Pumpkin Spice Caffe Latte K-Cup® Pods, Starbucks® Iced Espresso Classics Pumpkin Spice Latte and Starbucks® VIA Instant Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Here are four things to know about the PSL.

1.It was first invented in the research and development space at Starbucks headquarters in Seattle by Peter Dukes in 2003.

2.The Starbucks team brought in real pumpkin pies and poured espresso shots on top to create the flavor that has a large fan following.

3.“Pumpkin Spice Latte” was not the first choice of name for the fall drink, it was almost called the “Fall Harvest Latte”or FHL.

4.Not a fan of the latte- Ask your barista to add the pumpkin sauce to your favorite drink.

Does anyone else feel like the first Pumpkin Spice Latte marks the beginning of fall? Now if only the weather would cooperate.
