Puckett’s Launches Hitmaker Series with Spirits

Puckett's

For nearly 20 years, live music has been synonymous with Puckett’s Gro. & Restaurant, and it’s not unusual for guests to enjoy Puckett’s comfort food accompanied by original tunes from one of Music City’s most talented songwriters or well-known artists.

Beginning Saturday, July 28, the restaurant’s Franklin location will pay homage to its roots with the launch of the Puckett’s Hitmakers Series, a weekly show on the restaurant’s stage that will exclusively feature the writers behind beloved number one hits in a ‘songwriters in the round’ format.

“It has always been our tradition to feature top-tier singers and songwriters on Saturday nights in Franklin, and we’re excited to collaborate with Old Dominick to create an event that our community looks forward to,” said Claire Crowell, COO of A. Marshall Hospitality. “The artists you’ll be able to enjoy during our Hitmakers Series have written the songs that you know and love, and it’s an amazing opportunity to be able to hear the stories behind them in an intimate setting.”

The first show in the Hitmakers Series will feature acclaimed songwriters Lee Thomas Miller and Wendell Mobley. Miller has penned seven number one hits, including “You’re Gonna Miss This” for Trace Adkins and “Perfect Storm” for Brad Paisley. Mobley wrote the hit “There Goes My Life” for Kenny Chesney, in addition to several number one songs for Rascal Flatts and Randy Houser.

The Hitmakers Series is Spirited by Old Dominick Distillery, a revitalized Memphis, Tenn. brand with a like-minded commitment to showcasing great local talent. As a small-batch distillery, Old Dominick specializes in offering products like whiskey, vodka, gin and its signature Memphis Toddy. Puckett’s signature cocktails made with Old Dominick spirits, normally $10, will be featured for $8 at Hitmakers shows.

“Old Dominick naturally gravitated toward Puckett’s because both of our brands strongly value and prioritize supporting Tennessee culture, musicians and products,” said Clark Schifani, Vice President of Sales for Old Dominick. “Puckett’s Hitmakers Series provides the perfect setting to combine these Southern traditions to offer weekly shows that are truly memorable.”

Though Hitmakers Series will kick off at the Franklin location, these special shows will expand to Puckett’s locations in Columbia, Chattanooga and Murfreesboro on a quarterly basis later this year, beginning with a September 13 show in Murfreesboro by Kent Blazy and Danny Myrick.

“Over the years, the music program at Puckett’s has grown and evolved as it caters to each unique community that we serve,” said Marcus Whybrew, Music Director for A. Marshall Hospitality. “We have had the fortune to host number-one hit songwriters, up-and-coming artists who have gone on to become hitmakers, and the hitmakers themselves. At the end of the day, though, it always comes back to the songwriters.”

The first show with Miller and Mobley will kick off from 8:30 p – 10 p on Saturday, July 28 with a $12 cover. Reservations are recommended by calling 615-794-5527. Exclusive merchandise for the series will be available at the events, visit Puckett’s website for more information on the series.
