“Uncorked” returns to Puckett’s Boat House for the summer season, hosting the popular wine and food pairing event on Tuesday, July 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. The company’s brand sommelier, Jenn McCarthy, has prepared a delicious and refreshing wine tasting selection to accompany fresh summer flavors for the Summer Soiree theme of this month’s event.
“Uncorked is one of my favorite events because I get to teach about delectable food and wine pairings in such an intimate setting,” McCarthy said. “We had an excellent group of participants in the spring, and I’m delighted to get to share the summer event with both new and returning guests.”
The four course meal will include seafood, fresh garden vegetables and succulent smoked meat. Each dish will be paired with a carefully selected wine to complement both the ingredients and the warm summer weather. McCarthy will guide diners through their meals, educating them on each unique and individualized pairing.
The “Summer Soiree” tasting menu is as follows:
- Murietta Well (Dry Rosé)- Paired with scallops caprese ~ Seared sea scallops with fresh mozzarella, heirloom tomato and basil-balsamic vinegar
- Alexander Valley (Sauvignon Blanc)- Paired with zucchini crudo ~ Marinated zucchini and carrot with Meyer lemon and smoked sea salt
- Sharecropper’s (Pinot Noir)- Paired with poached salmon, topped with caramelized onion, orange, fennel and chili flakes
- Steele (Zinfandel)- Paired with smoked pork belly and charred cebollitas, pickled cherries and marinated kale
Guests are encouraged to get their tickets in advance, as the last “Uncorked” event sold out. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
