Public Invited to Learn About Future Franklin Development at Planapalooza

Planapalooza

The City of Franklin and its planning consultant, Town Planning & Urban Design Collaborative, LLC (TPUDC) invites the public to attend a PlanapaloozaTM February 19 to 22 to learn about the zoning ordinance update project and to provide citizen input.

The Franklin Municipal Planning Commission (FMPC) adopted Envision Franklin, the City’s long-range plan, in January of 2017. Over the last year, the Department of Planning and Sustainability has undertaken a major update to the City’s Zoning Ordinance. The goal of the update is to guide the type of high-quality, vibrant and sustainable development prescribed by Envision Franklin.

TPUDC, the City’s consultant, is assisting with the update by providing expertise in zoning, urban design and community engagement. They will facilitate several public events throughout the project, which is expected to conclude with the adoption of the new Ordinance by the end of 2019.

A key outreach event is called PlanapaloozaTM, which is an ordinance demonstration and design process where stakeholders and the community are invited to work directly with a multidisciplinary consultant team. Below is the schedule of events:
