Public Auditions for It’s A Wonderful Life Oct 20-21

Along with Holiday décor, spiced candles, and fruit cakes, comes the tradition plays and Holiday stories we all know and love.

The Bethlehem Players, a community theater outreach group at Bethlehem United Methodist Church in the Grassland area of Franklin, will hold public auditions for the old story we all know and love, It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play. Auditions will be on October 20th at 1 p.m. and October 21st at 6 p.m.

Founded in 1997, The Bethlehem Players have staged for packed audiences! Their work includes two world premiere productions, Southern Fried Funeral and Southern Fried Nuptials, as well as hits like Steel Magnolias, A Bad Year for Tomatoes, Rumors, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, The Sound of Music, and Barefoot in the Park.

It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, presented by award-winning playwrights Osborne and Eppler, will be directed by Johnny Peppers and take place December 5th-8th. All roles are available, and the auditions will consist of readings from the script. If you have the ability to use multiple voices, it is a definite plus. However, it is not required. Also, the group will be holding auditions for Hello Dolly! on December 15th at 1 p.m., and callbacks will be December 16th at 6 p.m. Hello Dolly! will be directed by Dietz Osborne, and those auditioning are asked to prepare a one-minute comic monologue and 16 bars of Broadway-style music. Please bring a head shot, resume, and sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided to all auditionees. Take note, the roles for Dolly Levi and Horace Vandergelder have already been cast. Rehearsals will begin Monday, January 6, 2014, and the show will go on Feburary 28-March 8.
