At last Thursday’s Spring Hill Chamber of Commerce member meeting, Williamson Chamber President, Matt Largen, announced that the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce is in the process of recruiting 41 businesses, which could result in 13,504 jobs. If all recruitment efforts are successful, Williamson County would see a $347 million investment, many new business openings and job opportunities.
Largen announced that the new projects are 54% headquarters and 46% branches.
Companies, new to the area make up 66% of the investment.
The new companies consist of: 12% in health care, 8% in finance/insurance, 6% in technology, 5% in manufacturing, 5% in retail, 4% in other services and 1% in education.
The Tennessean reports that Williamson County saw a 44.7 percent population growth from 2000-2010, making it a popular place for current businesses to expand and new ones to land.
Currently, the Williamson County Chamber of Commerce has more than 3,000 member businesses, thanks to the unification of three chambers last year (Brentwood-Cool Springs Chamber, the Cool Springs Chamber and the Williamson County-Franklin Chamber). Largen hopes to partner with the Spring Hill Chamber and offered Spring Hill Chamber members a discount exchange.
