The incredible result of Saturday night’s Powerball drawing was the creation of the never-before-seen jackpot, which is now $1.5 billion for the next drawing, Wednesday, Jan. 13. Along with the staggering jackpot, Saturday’s drawing created an incredible 387,657 winning tickets in Tennessee.

“Never in the history of U.S. lottery games have we seen a jackpot reach the billion dollar mark,” said Rebecca Hargrove, President and CEO of the Tennessee Lottery. “Big jackpots are always a source of great fun and intense interest and players have certainly responded to this latest Powerball run, pushing the jackpot beyond that once elusive mark of a billion to an incredible 1.3 billion dollars.”

With jackpots of this size, it is more important than ever to play early. The Lottery reminds players to play responsibly; it only takes one ticket to win and to sign your ticket immediately after purchase. Tickets must be purchased no later than Wednesday, 8:59 p.m. CT/9:59 p.m. ET for that night’s record drawing.

Besides the jackpot, there are eight other prize levels that players can win with prizes ranging from $4 up to $2 million. With the TN Lottery Mobile app and in-store ticket checkers, players can easily check their tickets to see if they have won a prize.
