Spring Hill’s losing streak reached 3 games, as the Raider defense struggled to contain a potent Tiger offense. Marshall County quarterback Ashton Posey completed 70% of his passes for 358 yards and 3 touchdowns and ran for 62 yards and 2 more scores in a 59-21 rout of Spring Hill.

The Raiders opened the scoring with a 6-yard Tylin Oden run after Oden completed a 41-yard pass to Daniel Johnson. Two Marshall County touchdown runs before the end of the quarter would give the Tigers a 14-7 lead. In the second quarter, Posey would run in his second touchdown on the ground and throw his first touchdown past. A Tiger field goal would give Marshall County a 31-7 lead at the break.

Spring Hill looked for a spark and opened the second half with an onside kick they recovered. The Raiders set themselves in position to score, but would fumble in the endzone and give Marshall County the ball back. Posey would lead the Tigers back down the field, completing another touchdown pass for Marshall County. Oden would put another touchdown on the board on the Raiders next drive with a 47-yard touchdown run. The Tigers would quickly respond with another Posey touchdown pass to take a 45-14 lead after 3. Dontae Smith would break through for an 86-yard touchdown run as the Raiders sole 4th quarter points. Two Marshall County touchdowns would set the final score at 59-21.

The loss dropped Spring Hill to 2-6, 1-3 in regional play. With a final week game against Lawrence County, the Raiders are still mathematically eligible for postseason play. The Raiders will go on the road to Lipscomb Academy, 6-2, next week.
