Lately there has been a huge change in swimwear. Which is actually a huge feat if you think about it. I mean, really, how much can you change a bathing suit without getting too crazy? That change has been a pendulum swing from barely-there bikinis to a more conservative, yet very fashionable suit. This Summer’s pool essentials are all about looking to the past for inspiration. Retro high-waisted suits are making their way back from the 50s and I personally could’t be more excited. And its not just swimwear, current pool accessories are also being pulled from the past. Rounded, mirrored sunglasses and Panama hats both nod to early 1900s resort-wear.
So why is this great news for your wardrobe? When classics are in, its hard to go wrong. For instance if you’re considering a high-waisted suit, keep in mind that its bound to flatter your frame as they suit every body type. Chances are, the pieces you pick up this season won’t be going out of fashion anytime soon. Your wardrobe will thank you later.
