Polka Dotz

Facebook and social media are making a difference for entrepreneur Tracy Anderson the owner of Polka Dotz in The Commons at Spring Hill. Her business is directly related to her active use of imagery and text on her store’s Facebook page. Polks Dotz is a monogramming and personalized gift store offering products averaging less than $20 a piece.

“It’s about developing relationships,” says Anderson. “When you monogram it, it becomes a one-of-a-kind and thoughtful gift. Sometimes it creates an heirloom.” Her Facebook page shows personalized items as well with photos of custom pieces previously ordered by customers. Each day new photos of carefully created treasures are posted on the site, and Anderson offers special incentives for those who keep up with her page.

“People are visual,” she said. “I promote finished merchandise or sneak peeks of incoming merchandise. Things that my customers want to see.” The concept is working well as new merchandise often sells the day it appears on her site and customers are finding her from as far away as Michigan and California.

Stop by the store at 5075 Main Street in Spring Hill and say hello to Tracy this week!
