Authorities have identified the man who died in a crash on I-65 northbound near Brentwood around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning as Jose Luis Solis Vergara, 25, of Sealy Drive.
Vergara’s black 2008 Toyota Corolla’s tires were flat when he traveled off the roadway and struck a rock wall near Old Hickory Boulevard, according to a preliminary Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
Vergara, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected upon impact.
A witness reported seeing a black car with flat tires traveling recklessly at a high rate of speed on I-65 North prior to the crash, according to the report.
Toxicology testing is pending.
Vergara was the only person involved in the one-car incident.
