Pilgrimage Festival

Day 1 of Pilgrimage Festival 2017 in now the books.  For those who didn’t attend it was a hot day but that didn’t seem to stop the crowds from enjoying the music, food, and experiences.

Throughout the day we saw the winner of Pilgrimage contest Cody Huggins, who played on the Shady Grove stage, local bands Blackfoot Gypsies, Bishop Gun, The Shadowboxers, and Colony House.

By the time the sun set, festival attendees were ready for headliner Justin Timberlake. Taking to the stage wearing a black Pilgrimage Festival shirt, Timberlake told the crowd it was great to be back in Tennessee. Eventually telling the crowd it was great to be home, his new home, Franklin (Timberlake purchased property in Leipers Fork recently). And in keeping it neighborly, Timberlake brought out his new neighbor Chris Stapleton and his wife, Morganne.

Timberlake and Stapleton performed “Tennessee Whiskey” and “Fire Away.”

Now the question is, will Timberlake come back to perform again next year?

Pilgrimage Festival continues today with Langhorne Slim, Mavis Staples, The Revivalist, Band of Heathens, Marty Stuart, and headliner Eddie Vedder.
