Each day, we will bring you a photo of the day, showcasing the sights of Williamson County (and beyond). Whether it’s a photo of a local landmark, a park, a photo from an event or just a great photo from the area, we want to showcase our local communities throughout the next year.
Photo of the day: The Westhaven Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of residents of the Westhaven master-planned community in Franklin, Tennessee, recently announced the recipients of its 2025 Excellence in Education scholarships. With funds raised at the 2024 Porchfest music festival and headliner concert, these scholarships were awarded to five recent Williamson County Schools graduates who embody community spirit and generosity through noteworthy volunteerism.
“These exceptional students represent a new generation of altruistic and service-minded individuals,” said Dana Hardy, The Westhaven Foundation Board Member and Chair of the Scholarship Committee. “Their commitment to service and academic excellence makes them stellar representatives of our neighborhood and the greater Williamson County community, and we’re proud to support their educational journeys.”
The five recipients of the 2025 Excellence in Education Scholarships are:
Fountain Scholarship (awarded to high school graduates who reside in Westhaven):
$5,000 – Connor Britt, son of Natalie & Jeff Britt of Westhaven, and a graduate of Independence High School. Britt will be attending the University of Tennessee – Knoxville to major in Mechanical Engineering.
$2,500 – Colin Adams, son of Barbara & Robert Adams of Westhaven, and a graduate of Independence High School. Adams will be attending Vanderbilt University to major in Business and Pre-Law.
Grimes Lift Scholarship (awarded to Williamson County Schools graduates):
$5,000 – Baker Bruehl, son of Kaylyn & Reid Bruehl of Arrington, and a graduate of Page High School. Bruehl will be attending Western Kentucky University to major in Business Management/Sales.
$2,500 – Shiloh Branson, daughter of Kristy & Steven Branson of Thompson Station, and a graduate of Vanguard Virtual High School. Branson will be attending Belmont University to major in Biology.
Debbie Jones Memorial Nursing Scholarship: (awarded to Williamson County Schools graduates or college students from Williamson County pursuing a nursing degree):
$2,500 – Jessica Crockett, daughter of Holly & Larry Crockett of Franklin, and a graduate of Page High School. Crockett will be attending Lipscomb University to major in Nursing.
