Registration is now open for Williamson County’s first ever Fins & Feet Youth Aquathlon, a registered USA Triathlon event for children ages 6-14, at the Brentwood Indoor Sports Complex (920 Heritage Way) on Sunday, August 17.
The event is open to the public, and children participating will receive official credit towards positioning in the USA Triathlon rankings. Registration fees for the event are $20 for USAT members, and $30 for non-members, which includes a one-day membership to USAT in the interest of still gaining credit if the child wishes to become a member of USAT at a later time. Registration is open through August 1st.
Athletes will race according to their age as of December 31, 2014, and will be divided into three levels by age:
Ages 6 to 8, will swim 50 meters & run 1/2 mile
Ages 9 to 11, will swim 200 meters & run 1 mile
Ages 12 to 14, will swim 300 meters & run 1.4 miles.
Boys and girls will run together.
This event is a “more official” version of the previous Mighty Tikes and Half Pint athletic events, which will take place later this year.
