Parks and Rec to Host Youth Aquathlon

Registration is now open for Williamson County’s first ever Fins & Feet Youth Aquathlon, a registered USA Triathlon event for children ages 6-14, at the Brentwood Indoor Sports Complex (920 Heritage Way) on Sunday, August 17.

Fins & FeetThe event is open to the public, and children participating will receive official credit towards positioning in the USA Triathlon rankings. Registration fees for the event are $20 for USAT members, and $30 for non-members, which includes a one-day membership to USAT in the interest of still gaining credit if the child wishes to become a member of USAT at a later time. Registration is open through August 1st.

Athletes will race according to their age as of December 31, 2014, and will be divided into three levels by age:

Ages 6 to 8,  will swim 50 meters & run 1/2 mile
Ages 9 to 11, will swim 200 meters & run 1 mile
Ages 12 to 14, will swim 300 meters & run 1.4 miles.
Boys and girls will run together.

This event is a “more official” version of the previous Mighty Tikes and Half Pint athletic events, which will take place later this year.
