At 4-0, FRA is off to one of the midstate’s best starts of the season. Friday, the Panthers look to continue their winning ways against Division II East/Middle opponent Mt. Juliet Christian Academy. The Saints enter the game with a record of 1-3, 0-1 in East/Middle play.

Run-Heavy Offense Powers Hot Start

The Panthers have put up nearly 45 points per game and are averaging more than 300 yards per game on the ground. FRA has been led on the ground by Sam Harvin, who has rushed for 419 yards and 6 touchdowns on the season. The Panthers have had rushing attempts by 11 different players this season. While the Panthers have relied on their run game, Spence Jones led the Panthers through the air, completing 50 percent of his passes for 395 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season. Harvin has also led Panther receivers with 7 receptions, 166 yards, and 4 touchdowns.

Opportunistic Defense Looks to Keep Up Recent Dominance

Coming off a performance where they held Goodpasture to 233 yards, 7 points, and forced 3 turnovers, FRA looks to continue their defensive prowess. Safety/linebacker Adrian Roper and linebacker Thomas Fortune Jr. lead the Panthers with 23 and 18 tackles respectively. A majority of the Panthers’ defensive success has come in forcing turnovers, led by Spence Jones, who has 3 of FRA’s 8 interceptions on the season. Against an MJCA offense that has struggled to put points in the past two weeks.

Friday could prove to be a short game for some of FRA’s starters, as they likely continue to roll. The Saints will likely be a good warm-up for the Panthers before next week’s challenge against Friendship Christian.
