For the second-straight year, Page won the Battle of 840, knocking off Fairview by a 28-20 score at Page on Friday night.

Page quarterback Cade Walker threw for three touchdowns and 187 yards before the break, two scores going to Michael Burdick. Walker added a second-half rushing touchdown.

Walker threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to Burdick, and a 30-yarder to Thomas Hunt, as Page led 14-0 just 2:41 into the evening.

Walker hit Burdick, Page’s two-way star, with a 24-yard scoring strike just before half.

Fairview wide receiver Kam Harris-Lusk countered with a 6-yard touchdown run with 4:56 left in the quarter. But the Yellowjackets, despite a size advantage in the trenches, never led.

Harris-Lusk scored two touchdowns and rushed seven times for 24 yards, catching 13 balls for 108 more. Fairview receiver Blake Russell caught six passes for 86 yards, while running back Logan Nardozzi carried 12 times for 90.

The Patriots had a lot to put out of their minds coming in. Coach Charles Rathbone informed players earlier last week that Page’s new turf field might not be ready in time for the opener, much to the team’s disappointment.

The Patriots were ready to play at Nolensville just in case. But word came early Friday that the field was playable.

Then, there was the matter of forgetting last week. Page couldn’t run the ball, and made too many mistakes, as it was blanked in a two-quarter scrimmage against Siegel.

But the Patriots, who won the rivalry by a 28-14 count last year, came out strong.

Page travels to Nolensville next week while Fairview has its home opener with White House-Heritage.
